I luvs my Posterous ;-) With so many of my friends moving over here, i made a few tutorials to help them get started. i have decided to post them up on youtube.

These are the notes from the last screencast, which talks about why email is the preferred method of posting, and some tips.

There are three ways you can publish posts to Posterous

• Bookmarklet
• Web Post ( in manage account)
• Email

The bookmarklet and web post work great for quick hit stuff..when you are surfing and just want to nab some images. It’s quick and easy.

The genius in Posterous lies in the post by email method. The advantages of posting via Email?

• There are more than 2 billion email accounts in the world.
• Everybody uses email, it is the what people do most frequently on the internet
• Formatting is a snap
• Adding links is a snap
• Attaching files is a snap
• Create and save drafts, post at your leisure
• Creates a searchable archive of all your posts.
• It is the most powerful and flexible method to post, you can modify the subject line and To: line and make it do some cool tricks!

Get yourself a shiny new email account. Keep all your posterous stuff in one place.
Use a web based service, like Gmail, for complete portability.

Control How and Where Your Post Goes

• post@posterous.com creates a public post and automatically shares to the social medias services you’ve set up.

• posterous@posterous.com makes a public post that is not autoposted.

• private@posterous.com creates a non-public post.

• twitter@posterous.com spreads your post only via Twitter.(works for all your autopost places.)

• twitter+facebook@posterous.com spreads your post via Twitter and Facebook. ( or any combination)

Tag your posts in your email
Simply put ((tag: any, tag, you, want, separated, by, commas))

Multiple pictures are placed in a gallery. You can also have posterous display your pictures inline

Simply put ((nogallery)) at the end of the subject line of your email.

do you have an auto signature in your email?
Simply type #end at the end of your post.Anything under this will not appear
